Bryan/Bob - You knew this was coming. There are choices and consequences with your actions.....
My wife and I brought a honda Civic to them that was overheating. They replaced the radiator and flushed the engine for $1,800 but then found that that actually did not fix the issue. They then told me it would need a new engine which then brought the price up to 3400. That's all fine and dandy if that would have fixed the problem...... So Bob (the guy we dealt with the most) after having it for 4 weeks told me it is ready to be picked.... So we get it and right away it is overheating in literally 5 minutes after leaving the shop... (But it was ready to be picked up???)
I don't know how these people sleep at night. Absolutely screwed us out of $300. 2 spark plugs for $300 without us giving the go ahead for working on our vehicle. I will make it a point to tell everyone about this experience.... A cup of coffee and talk about the miscommunication? I only want my car fixed and a copy of the recording where I supposedly said to do it. If I didn't say those words then I will follow through with the next step. I'm not going to be taken advantage of.
I honestly, try to be fair and patient with people however Ponder Auto Repair, seriously ripped me off. Not a little but 3,400 dollars worth.
Very nice people and do good work. Have had them work on my vehicles several times through the years but I came to realize they were 4-500$ higher than every other shop I had quote me. Good work, good people but the prices are HIGH...
We gave them 3400, 2 months, and 3 chances to fix 1 problem with the car.... they proved themselves incapable to complete the task at hand. They will not stand behind their shady overpriced work.I have talked with the owner Bryan (who usually people aren't allow to talk to him for some reason or that's what Bob told me anyway) and he seems apathetic to this whole situation. Honestly, this is the worst experience I have ever had to deal with a mechanic and don't be fooled by going here.
Well 2 weeks later the car overheats AGAIN... So we bring it back and they "fix it". Well before I drive off I look under the hood and there is oil literally running down the engine block from the head gasket.... So I bring Bob out there... He literally tells me that he isn't sure if they will fix that under warranty or not.... (I have pics/videos of this conversation but cannot post due to our small claims court hearing coming up).
READ THIS BEFORE YOU GO HERE!!!
By the way we brought it to another mechanic who repaired it for 300 dollars and said that gaskets were not properly seated and we have those photos as well.
My interactions with Ponder Auto are always friendly and expedient. I work alone in an office for a small business, and when I have to have work on my vehicle, they are willing to take me to, and from, work so that I won't have to use a taxi (or make other arrangements). Not only is this service helpful beyond measure, they're a local business, and supporting them supports the community. I couldn't be happier with my experiences here. Highly recommended.
So we bring it back to them... They put another engine it and 4 week later we go to pick it up but the air manifold is totally loose (all bolts missing), and the stereo does not work. (Again not ready to be picked up)
Great local auto repair shop with the capabilities of a dealer service department. Very pleased with the service Ponder Auto Repair provides. The staff was very friendly, professional, and performed requested services quickly and under the quoted price.
