Pulled pork was great!! The tea is to die for!! And the twice baked potato melted in your mouth. A must if you like BBQ !! All the sauces where Great!!
Incredibly good BBQ! My wife and I go here almost every week. Love to bring our friends! Best sweet tea in the world!! Amazing desserts (especially banana pudding!). Highly recommend! Clean and super fast too! Great for families.
Ordered from here several times and had a great experience. However today was not the case ordered 3 Pig Packs. Once at the location to pick up the food the young girl at the register was rude, after we paid her response was there is your stuff. Not thank you or even have a nice day. Once we were back to the office and started unpacking; 2 lids one on the sauce the other on one of the beans were busted all the way through allowing bbq sauce to spill all in the bag and all over the other containers. One of the bbq sauces didn't even have a lid on it, it appeared as if the food was just thrown into the two bags.. huge mess! We called and asked to speak with a manager to tell them about our experience. We spoke with Ben, who apologized then stated he personally checked the lids on our order and all of them were on there good but we could come back and get more sauce if we wanted. We have ordered several times for office lunches here and it was has always been great. Not sure what is going on with the staff but some training is definitely needed and if you can't interact with your customers, you should not be working the register.
Food tasted like it was homemade: wholesome, filling, tastey, not greasy, and not overdone. It was a peaceful place to eat, and is comfortable to bring infants/young toddlers, grandma, and hip enough to bring your buddies after work. Clean establishment. Menu options were great, staff was attentive and kind, prices were VERY affordable for a family, and we left with smiles. The pig roast was fantastic, the beans were PHENOMENAL. We were so impressed with this humble restaurant that we plan on bringing our out-of-town guests here from now on as "a place you should visit if you're in Johnson City." Kudos to the staff, management and owners.
Red Pig was in my top 3 BBQ restaurants but it seems like there has been several small changes since the former founder/owner past away. It's one thing to change decor but when you deal with things like signature recipes, small changes can do a small business restaurant alot of damage. The food is still good but there is something off with a couple of items that I have ordered.
