I visited this location on 04/02/2016 at 6:00 PM EST with my wife. The employee that took our order and the employee that cooked the items on the grill were excellent; friendly, courteous, and accurate in their duties. However, Miguel, the third employee present when we placed our order, completely ruined our interaction with this business. After my wife had communicated the extra toppings she wanted on her sub to the employee, I asked her what toppings and condiments Charley's had, as I had never been before. She stated that they had mayonnaise and mustard, and normal vegetables. Miguel took this conversation to mean that I desired mayonnaise on my sub, and applied a gratuitous amount of mayo to the bun while waiting for the sandwich to finish cooking. While I can appreciate the attention to detail, I did not want any extra toppings on my sub. I asked Miguel if he had placed the mayo on my bun, or another order, and he confirmed that it was mine. I asked if he would mind using another bun, as my wife and I's conversation was not part of our order. Miguel responded with, "She said mayo, so I put mayo on the bun." I stated that she and I were discussing the condiments available, and that I did not want mayo. Rather than simply throw the bun away or set it aside for another order, Miguel stared at me with a blank expression for a few moments, before forcefully throwing the bun onto the floor, and getting a new one to place the meat of my sub into, as if he were a toddler throwing a tantrum because he felt offended. The gentleman working the grill reprimanded Miguel for his behavior, but from Miguel's complete lack of emotional change, I doubt it had any effect upon him. In fact, when I picked up my sub to begin my meal after taking a seat at the food court, I found that the basket my sub had been placed in had copious amounts of mayo on it, which coated the bottom of my sub, as if to spite me for daring to choose what condiments I wanted on a meal that I ordered and spent over $20.00 on. While the job may not be the most lucrative or desirable, it is Miguel's job to provide friendly customer service to Charley's customers until he finds employment elsewhere or resigns. Miguel's attitude towards his customers and his job is something I see everyday as a manager in a customer service field; dissatisfaction, resentment, frustration, and apathy. Until this employee's attitude changes dramatically, or he is terminated, I will not be a patron of any Charley's establishment, and will make it a point to purchase food and drink from a competitor in the Johnson City Mall food court instead of Charley's. Do not eat here unless you want poor customer service!

So - I just stood here and watched the girl picking up dirty items, getting in and out of the fridge, cleaning a grill and cooking and everything else such as wiping her hands on her pants etc - all while wearing the SAME pair of gloves!!! Gloves are only beneficial if you CHANGE them!!! Grossed out and sand which is in the trash!!!! I stood there for 20 minutes no one washed their hands once or wiped anything down - ugh

I waited for my food for a very long time. My family was able to get food from three different places and consume that food before I ever got my sandwich. The employees were too busy talking to acknowledge my presence, the only person they had to cook for. The meat for my sub wasn't placed on the grill until about seven minutes after I paid. They were not short staffed, there were about five to six employees behind the counter. Very disappointed, I used to love coming to Charley's in the Johnson City Mall.

I've never ate there but every time I've been to this mall, they've been SO SLOW. my cousin went through there and was in line for about 30 minutes. It was good according to what I heard but horribly slow service.

I ordered a sweet tea and the bacon cheddar fries. Took the lid of my tea after I drank it to fill it up. There was a dead cockroach in my tea cup. I am reporting them to the health department Monday morning 07/23/2016
