The staff in the front office and the 2 teachers we had were nice and good..outside of that I was soooo blown away by how things were handled in that school. First of all, there was so much cursing and bad behavior on the buses. And when I called out of concern to the Bus Office..her response was "If we kicked every kid off that acted like that..nobody would ride the bus" I was shocked by her response. Then after notifying the school, one of the kids I was most concered about never got any kid of punishment for acting in a bad manner and the adults were well aware of his behavior. Then I seen and over heard other kids having really bad attitudes and it seems that it's not a big deal around the campus. May be ok with some, but it's not ok that my kids are around that for 6+ hours a day. We switched schools and from the moment I walked in the new school I had a great feeling about it, and since then it's been very CLEAN, ORGANIZED, STRUCTED, and DISCIPLINED!
I was also a part time Janitor there for 1 1/2 years and would have stayed if it would have been possible for my position to have been changed to full time status. It was one of the best positions I've held as I had interaction with all the students on a daily basis.
Great teachers, administration is very helpful and understanding of their students and do what they can to help resolve the situations .on a personal basis. Thanks a parent .

I was/have been employed at HVE off and on as a substitute for 8 years and both of my children attended there. The school is always clean, especially for such a large student body (600+ students). The teachers are wonderful and genuinely care for the students and what they are teaching. Discipline is handled in a timely, concise manner. Substituting is a joy and to see a students eyes light up when they understand a lesson is one that I cherish.
Note that this school has won awards two years in a row. A wonderful learning environment for the children that attend.
